Fire Alarm Sounder Testing
RV Acoustics can carry out fire alarm sounder testing in compliance with British Standard BS EN 5839 Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems for Buildings. The standard sets out suitable requirements to assess the noise levels, it will not suffice to use a smart phone app or cheap sound meter.
To test fire alarm sounders the sound level meter must meet the following criteria:
Standardisation: BS EN 61672-1:2003 Class 2
Frequency weighting: dB(A)
Time Weighting: Slow
RV Acoustics sound level meters comply with BS EN 5839 and following a satisfactory test, a certificate will be provided to prove compliance.
